Every man needs something to put his faith in.And the concept of God is the best to believe in.This belief gave many great religions to the world.A Religion is nothing but a way of worshiping the divine by our own means. It's a way of life.Life goes on anyhow; It's the rule of nature. But to lead a peaceful and fruitful life everyone needs something to guide him on a right path.
Religion is truly a guideline for a peaceful life.It gives us a sense of consciousness towards the society. When we are about to perform a unmoral task, religion is what pricks our conscience and we are prevented from doing that.Religion accompanies us in loneliness, backs us in fear and helps us to tackle challenges. When we are under any type of fear or tension we are at least 50% comforted by the thought of presence of God with us.Our Religion makes our mind strong enough to face difficulties but also humble enough to enjoy successes. It's solace on agitation and brakes to outburst of anger.Religion keeps us from addictions. The underlying principle of every religion is-Service to mankind. As 'Service to mankind is service to God'.Islam preaches that every Muslim must spend 10% of his income for charity.Eknath offered the sacred water of Ganga brought Kashi to a thirsty donkey.Mother Teresa spent her whole life in serving mankind. They all could do so only because their religion preached so.They were driven to serve people because of their immense faith in their God and religion.
Buddha,Guru Nanak,Dyaneshwara and many more enlightened human minds took them in the heaven of peace and solace.Bhagvad Gita is an invaluable gift of religion to the whole world.Religion also possesses the power to change people.Buddhism transformed Ashoka,Islam transformed the Arabs. As said earlier religion makes us powerful as well as humble;it made Ashoka to reach extreme point of modesty and Arabs to the highest peak of power.
This is the power of a religion, power of divine. It is inherited by a man from his ancestors, but is taken to its heights by some great men.

Science and human intellect-a perfect match
It was a hot day. The sun was emitting flames of heat. I was playing football. I was excited to play with my new shoes but on other hand I was totally exhausted to play any more. I went inside the home. The drops (actually streams) of sweat were rolling on my body. I immediately switched on the fan, and in no time I was at ease. My fatigue just disappeared and again I felt energetic. The thing that was responsible for my comfort was our fan. I have a habit of thinking of a bad consequence of anything I come across. The same happened then. What would I have been doing now without a fan? I would have been dying.
This (so called) simple looking machine, fan, is also a child of that gigantic and ever increasing giant called by its founders and followers as ‘science’. Science has been with man since times unknown. But at that time man was not sharp enough to call his intellect as ‘science’. It was only in the time of independent researchers and inventors that it came to be called so. The journey started with a spark of fire; then wheel; then a cart; a bullock cart………….! The invention of wheel was the turning point. The journey of man’s success, progress which started with a spark of fire, still has found no brakes. It is moving at exceptionally high speed. The World makes trillions of trillions of rupees everyday with the technology he possesses.
Today technology has reached that heights of success which are not even in our mythology. (a great example of power of human imagination) Technology is today beyond the reach of common man’s imagination. We have everything to fulfill our and even others’ needs. Man has reached miles up in the sky and the same under land. He has been utilizing each and every known(today nearly everything is known) particle on and in the earth. Even the so called trivial things have found applications in man’s life.
The fear that man had in past was of he becoming slave forever but the fear of today is of men becoming robots. The computer technology has completely revolutionized man’s life. It has widened man’s horizons. The things which were,in the past, only the things for sake of dreaming can be done in seconds. We can see and talk to the people thousands of miles away from us. Some extremely modern technologies even can control and operate human minds. With the astonishing progress in medical science man can live a lot longer than expected. He can look young even in his 40s.
Such is the expanse of human intellect. There is no match for it; not even god.(which actually doesn’t exist) Man has crossed all the limits of time and space. Though some pessimists fear of man’s end it won’t materialize. Man has such a power(his intellect) that can even bail him out of hell!

Sportsmanship
In a recently held sports competition in our school there was a lot of quarrels between two finalists,as they have been arch rivals since last three years. The team that lost the match blamed the umpires and accused them to be the main culprits behind their defeat. Also the winning side startled the losing one. Both the teams were competitive but the main thing they both lacked was the spirit of sportsmanship.
Sportsmanship is regarded as a component of morality in sport, composed of three related and perhaps overlapping concepts: fairplay, sportsmanship and character.Fair play refers to all participants treated equally and not blaming them for their blunders. And also behaving in dignified manner.Character mainly refers to disposition, values and habits that determine how one would respond in challenges, fears, opportunities, failures and successes. This good character is seen in a polite behavior towards players and officials and shaking hands after match.(seems i am quite childish, right?)
Sportsmanship is not booing someone after a match but is cheering by appreciating what they did.Sportsmanship is attitude,a code of conduct and a spirit of competition that permeate athletics. We must be proud, humble, competitive yet supportive.Because sports show us what we are and where we stand. And having written this much the words of an American basketball coach seem to be justified-"Sports don't build your character. They reveal it."

Where there is will there is way
It is said that,'nothing succeeds like success'. But how one becomes successful? What is the thing that pricks him to rise up? That thing is only his will power which proves to be stronger than his muscle power in most of the circumstances.
We say that God has gifted us the most precious thing he has-Life.So we should get out and live it and make the most of it.But from the driving force comes? It's only our will power. You don't succeed if you don't aspire to reach there.Because to be is to do.
We can even turn over the face of the entire world by our will and this has been proved by many great personnel. We can trap one's body but not one's soul and ideas. That's why even in the inhuman conditions of jail Lokmanya Tilak ignited the whole of India with his writings.Ch.Shivaji Maharaj took the oath of 'swaraj' at the age of just 14!
We should always think of things in various perspectives and we will get many solutions. While inventing electric bulb,Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times. But he never gave up and said that he never failed, but found out 10,000 different ways that won't work.

CWG-a pride or shame
Common Wealth Games are a treat to every competing nation. Its course is a great joy for nations and they feel prestigious to be a part of it.But the nation hosting it is at the peak of its prestige. The country's organization is what appreciated by people the most.
May be the world's outlook towards India of having potential to host any grand event successfully, has made common wealth committee to choose India to host CWG 2010.This was an another feather in India's glorious crown.Hosting a grand sporting event like CWG is a great pride for every nation. But the organization of these games have made Indians to repent on the decision of hosting CWG-which some of us call as a mistake.
Its preparations were initiated in great enthusiasm and vigor.Everything was going all right. Then the most popular saying 'MONEY corrupts' came true.Even the CWG organizers could't escape it.As more money was accumulated in the process,Indian politicians were lured towards it.Their intention was only to fulfill theit own self-interest.No one thought of country's pride.India had enough money to make this project a success, but all this went in vain because of political parasites. We are a fine country with some superb minds who are made to look like monkeys by some stupid and selfish rulers. They have tarred India's image.
Soon India started receiving notifications from abroad.Nations like Canada and New Zealand have even refused to participate in the games because of unhygeneic conditions around and within games' venue. Some countries even call it a total flop. The harshest criticism was made by Britain when it took the decision of staying in a hotel instead of 'Khelgram.'CWG news also got a bitter response on social networking sites.I was shocked to read people's comments there.A poll put to vote on TOI website got over 15,000 polls in just 8hrs.And 60% of them were against OC of CWG.
Fie on our country who became world idol in overthrowing colonial rule.If a country like South Africa, who got independence much later can host an event like FIFA World Cup(perhaps the biggest in the world)then why not India.
We can't help the present situation, but thinking optimistically India can host CWG in just satisfactory manner.Bad organization could've kept India away from hosting the games, but let's hope that the present things go well.Because 'something is better than nothing.'

'Science comes out of questioning'.It is no doubt true and can also be justified .'Millions said the apple felt but Newton was the one to ask WHY'.This mere statement clarifies what significance the words 'WHY','WHAT',HOW' have got in development of modern science.
Questioning has not only given birth to that complicated and technical scientific concepts but also the foundations of human life. That so called stupid Stone Age man used to wander from place to place. His life wasn't settled. He wandered irrespective of heat and cold. But seeing other beasts living in their their abodes he too grew desperate to have a one such of his own.Don't we always envy the one who has something more than us and try to get it too. Thus came the idea of architecture, planning and engineering. And those were the first ancestors of today's 'engineering puppets'.
Questioning even revolutionized the religion.Claims of religious heads of religions were questioned and crushed.A rational and sensible society was got built.
If there was no questioning, there would be no science and no progress. The world would have been a planet dumped in dark grooves.

Strike while the iron is hot.
"I will kill you","Decide if you want to live or die".These are the typical dialogues of villains of any film, when he abducts the heroine. He spends so much time in warning her that within it the hero comes and rescues the heroine.Every time when i see these films i wonder, why don't the villain kill the heroine at once? does he wait for the hero to come? Then at last the hero comes and as usual kills the villain and the film ends on its typical prescribed note.
Our life is too, full of opportunities. They exist around us but we don't have the vision to perceive them. They all are within the reach of every man,but for certain time. They don't wait for us but we have to be ready for it.When that opportunity is most getable we must strike it.
We all have the ability to make the most of opportunities coming to us .But the foremost foe of man in this regard is his laziness.Man remains busy in enjoying material pleasures and misses a golden chance progress.Man doesn't understand the value of opportunities coming to his doorstep. He realizes it later and repents. And there is no point in crying over split milk.
So,we should make the most out of the opportunities, the moment they come to us.Doesn't a smith mold a piece of iron when it is hot?
